Prayagraj: Emphasising that national security and Karma Yoga have always occupied a central place in Indian thought, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (Kashi Prant) organisational secretary Nitin Bharat on Tuesday said the lives of Lord Ram and Lord Krishna continue to inspire society through their ideals of duty, sacrifice, social harmony and cultural integration.The VHP leader said religious conversion and “love jihad” were serious challenges facing Hindu society. “Since its inception, the organisation has been working to protect Sanatan Dharma while safeguarding issues related to faith and honour,” he said.Addressing a training camp in the city, Bharat said Lord Krishna dedicated his entire life to the establishment of Dharma and the fulfilment of duty, while also promoting social harmony and spiritual unity.He said the life of Lord Ram was synonymous with struggle, sacrifice, dignity and ideals. “We draw inspiration for patience and courage in adverse circumstances from Lord Ram’s life. Social harmony and national integration were reflected in his actions. He embraced the deprived, tribals, forest dwellers, Nishad Raj, Shabari and Kevat, and included them in his army during the battle for Dharma,” he said.Bharat described Maryada Purushottam Lord Ram as a symbol of a disciplined, fearless, discrimination-free and self-reliant society. He said the aim of the VHP was to restore national pride and self-respect while working towards a society where everyone is treated equally.He added that the organisation had participated in several struggles over the years and claimed that a “symbol of slavery” ended after a 500-year-long struggle at the birthplace of Lord Ram with the support of society.Drawing parallels with the lives of Lord Ram and Lord Krishna, Bharat said both had undertaken significant struggles and strategic efforts for the establishment of Dharma. “Under the guidance of revered saints, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad is carrying forward the same mission of social and cultural awakening,” he said.Urging workers to take inspiration from their lives, Bharat called for continuous efforts towards preserving religion, culture and values.Several sessions were conducted during the training camp on topics such as early rising, yoga, pranayama, physical exercise, songs, reading and writing practices, and newspaper reading.
