CHENNAI: Chief minister M K Stalin hit back at AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami for the second consecutive day for his remark that “Stalin would have gone in Covid”.At a campaign meeting in Chengalpet on Thursday, Stalin said he was not scared of death. “Palaniswami, everyone will face death one day. Even this Stalin will die one day and will be buried. But none have the guts to bury schemes introduced by Stalin,” he said campaigning for DMK candidates and TNCC chief K Selvaperunthagai. “As long as the schemes are there in Tamil Nadu, this Stalin will be ruling the state,” Stalin said, reminiscent of the statement made by the late chief minister C N Annadurai, who said that as long as his policies are in place in Tamil Nadu, it meant that he was ruling the state.Stalin said the “curse” of Palaniswami, as well as that of Palaniswami’s “bosses in RSS” would do him no harm. “I will continue to serve Tamil Nadu till my last breath,” Stalin said. He also said that he had lot of DMK’s achievements to speak about whereas Palaniswami has nothing except AIADMK’s ‘Koovathur drama’, referring to the 2017 incident following J Jayalalithaa’s demise in which AIADMK MLAs were lodged at a private resort at Koovathur near Mahabalipuram, to select a CM candidate.Stalin then attacked BJP alleging that the saffron party has drawn up “dangerous plans for TN”, which they are planning to implement using Palaniswami. “All of BJP’s plans are long term and dangerous. Palaniswami has been chosen to implement the schemes,” he said. He asked Palaniswami to remove the words ‘Anna’ (Annadurai) and ‘Dravida’ from his party’s name. “April 23 will be the judgment day, where final nails on your coffin will be driven,” Stalin said.
