BENGALURU: In a case of deception, an engineer working in a private company at Jigani has been accused of cheating multiple women under the pretext of marriage, allegedly turning relationships into a calculated “business.”The accused, identified as Ravi, in his early 30s, is a native of Chikkanayakanahalli in Tumakuru district. He allegedly married two women and got engaged to another, all while pretending to be unmarried. The scam came to light after his first wife filed a complaint, prompting Jigani police to register a case of cheating and bigamy. Ravi is on the run, and efforts are underway to trace him.He allegedly married the complainant in Jan 2024. However, soon after the wedding, his behaviour raised red flags, the complaint said. She has accused him of making inappropriate remarks about other women, forcing her into uncomfortable situations and even pressuring her to invite friends home. He also demanded dowry from her. While she was pregnant, Ravi began searching for another bride.In Oct 2024, Ravi reportedly got engaged to another woman after falsely claiming he was single. The truth surfaced when his first wife alerted the bride’s family, leading to a dramatic confrontation at his residence. Enraged family members of the second woman allegedly assaulted him.Despite the exposure, Ravi allegedly continued his deceit. In Dec 2025, he was accused of marrying yet another woman, again hiding his marital status. When his first wife and her family confronted him over the second marriage, tensions escalated into a heated altercation, with her family members and locals reportedly thrashing him.
