Govt to improve facilities at gurdwara, says Samrat

Patna: CM Samrat Choudhary on Thursday visited Takhat Shri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib and reaffirmed his commitment to the development of the shrine.During the visit, Samrat discussed the progress of Bihar and the gurdwara during Nitish Kumar’s tenure and assured the management committee he would continue to work for the progress and development of the religious site.Jathedar Singh Sahib Giani Baldev Singh honoured the CM with a “siropa”, while the management committee presented him with a sword, a memento and a book on Sikh history. Committee president Jagjot Singh Sohi and general secretary Inderjeet Singh said while Samrat had visited the shrine earlier, this was his first visit after taking charge as the state’s top executive.During the visit, the CM offered prayers at the sacred Jora Sahib of Guru Gobind Singh and Mata Sahib Kaur and visited the holy well of Mata Gujri. Committee members expressed confidence the state govt’s cooperation would continue under the new leadership, also noting the CM’s personal devotion to the Guru’s house.Samrat assured the management all ongoing projects related to devotee facilities would be prioritised. He further committed to initiating new development works at the site to better accommodate pilgrims arriving from across the country and abroad.“I paid my obeisance and offered my prayers at the sacred shrine of Takhat Sri Harmandir Ji Patna Sahib. The sanctity of this divine site and the grace of the Guru bestowed upon my mind a sense of boundless peace, energy, and renewed inspiration for public service. Praying to Waheguru for the happiness, prosperity, and good health of all the people of Bihar, I resolved to dedicate myself to the creation of a strong and prosperous Bihar,” Samrat posted on X.
