A quiet dream that began in a small village in Karnataka has taken Pruthviraj Prakash to one of the world’s leading artificial intelligence companies.Now working at NVIDIA’s headquarters in Santa Clara, California, as a Software Development Engineer in Deep Learning, Prakash recently shared the journey that took him from limited access to technology to building artificial intelligence systems alongside some of the biggest names in the industry.His story, shared in a LinkedIn post does not celebrate a new job alone, but it traces years of education, persistence and career transitions that made the opportunity possible.

From a small village to Silicon Valley

Prakash comes from a small village near Chitradurga in Karnataka, where, as he wrote, access to technology “once felt out of reach.”“What started as a quiet dream in a small town has now become reality,” he wrote while announcing that he had joined NVIDIA as a Software Development Engineer.Prakash completed his Bachelor of Technology in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from PES University between 2016 and 2020.Soon after graduating, he joined Bengaluru based technology company Enquero as an engineer, where he worked for three years between August 2020 and July 2023. The role gave him industry experience before he decided to pursue higher studies in the United States.In August 2023, he enrolled in the Master of Science in Computer Science programme at Clarkson University. Over the next two years, he strengthened his background before graduating in May 2025.Within months, he secured a position at NVIDIA, joining the company’s Deep Learning division in August 2025.Today, he works from Santa Clara and reportedly earns an annual salary of around ₹2.6 crore.

Announcing the milestone, Prakash said working at NVIDIA represented more than a career move.“Joining NVIDIA feels surreal, not just for the opportunity to work on cutting edge deep learning and AI, but to be part of something bigger, alongside some of the brightest minds in tech,” he wrote.Prakash concluded his post with advice for students and young professionals working towards careers in technology.“To those still chasing their dreams, please don’t stop. Keep learning, stay patient, and move forward one step at a time,” he wrote.He ended with a line that captured the journey from a small Karnataka village to one of the world’s most influential AI companies.“What feels impossible today might just become your story tomorrow.”Then came the sentence that summed up the milestone. “Yes, I made it to NVIDIA, and so can you.”
