'Nobody will throw you out': Korean traveller gets unexpected welcome at Jaipur royal wedding

A casual question. A few laughs. And before he knew it, a Korean traveller had gone from watching an Indian wedding from the outside to becoming part of the celebrations. The moment, captured in a now-viral video, unfolded during his visit to Jaipur. Curious after spotting a grand wedding, the content creator decided to ask a guest something that many tourists may have wondered about but rarely say out loud. The answer he received was only the beginning of an interaction that took several unexpected turns.

It all began with one question

The traveller noticed a grand wedding taking place at what appeared to be a palace in Jaipur. He walked up to a woman attending the event and asked, “Can you tell me how I get invited to the wedding?”He then jokingly asked if there was any chance he could join the celebration. The woman laughed and replied, “Well, you’re kind of here already.”The traveller smiled and joked that he would probably be kicked out within the next five minutes.

An invitation that caught him by surprise

Instead of asking him to leave, the woman soon returned with a message.“My grandmother said to come and join her,” she told him.Clearly surprised, the traveller asked if she was serious before walking over to meet the elderly woman.

A shared interest made the conversation easy

As they spoke, the elderly woman asked where he was from. When he said he was Korean, she shared the reason she had invited him.“That’s why I’m inviting you. I love Korean reality TV,” she said.

A warm welcome and a royal surprise

The interaction did not end there. The elderly woman introduced herself as Jyoti and warmly welcomed the traveller into the celebrations. As they continued chatting, Andy admitted that he was worried about standing out because of his attire and feared he might be asked to leave. “I don’t want to intrude too much. Is there a place where I can sit?” he asked. Jyoti quickly put him at ease, replying, “Get a chair and sit here, and nobody will throw you out.”As the conversation progressed, Jyoti introduced him to several people around her and claimed that one of the women nearby was the “daughter of the Princess of Jaipur.” Sharing the experience on Instagram, Andy later wrote, “I asked to attend an Indian wedding… didn’t realize it was a royal one.” He said he had no idea about the wedding’s royal connections until Jyoti began introducing him to the guests. His video also appears to show Diya Kumari attending the event, adding another unexpected twist to the encounter.Thumb image: Instagram/@cooksux
