Punjab lecturer recruitment 2026: The Directorate of School Education, Recruitment Directorate, Punjab has issued a short notice for Punjab Lecturer Cadre Recruitment 2026, announcing 1,013 vacancies for lecturer posts in government schools. The recruitment includes 829 regular vacancies and 184 backlog vacancies across multiple subjects. Subject-wise vacancies announcedThe vacancies are distributed across 12 subjects covering language, arts, commerce and science streams. History has the highest number of posts, followed by English and Political Science.
Eligibility and selection processApplicants must possess a master’s degree in the relevant subject from a recognised university with at least 55 per cent marks. Certain posts also require a minimum of 50 per cent marks at graduation level. Preference will be given to UGC NET or PSTET-qualified candidates, while PhD holders may receive additional weightage during merit preparation.Candidates must have passed Punjabi up to Matric level. The prescribed age limit is 18 to 37 years.The written examination and interview will determine final selection. As per the previous recruitment pattern, the examination will assess Punjabi, English, teaching aptitude, mathematics, general knowledge and the concerned subject.
